Crawford County Jail Roster Overview
The Crawford County Sheriff's Department operates the current inmate roster through its official inmate-search page and the public roster at inmates.crawfordcountysheriff.org. The sheriff's landing page describes it as the Inmate Search and Bond Information page and links users to the live roster after a disclaimer. The roster is built for current local jail custody, so it is the first source for people booked by the Crawford County Sheriff's Department, Van Buren Police Department, other local agencies, and local courts. It does not require a login or payment in the version inspected for the research file.
The roster is useful because it shows current jail records, but it is not a full criminal-history database. A jail booking record can show the holding offense and bond data before a prosecutor files formal charges. A person sentenced to Arkansas state custody may leave the county roster and appear in the Arkansas Department of Corrections inmate search, including a state unit or a county waiting-list status. Sentenced federal prisoners are searched through the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator, and immigration detainees are searched through ICE Online Detainee Locator System.
The live Crawford County jail roster page showed a last-updated timestamp when inspected, and the research found many current profile links in one table. That count is a point-in-time roster view, not an average daily population figure. Released people or invalid profile IDs may return an "Inmate not found" message, so use the jail phone line or a written request when the online result does not answer the custody question.
The official roster search page is visible in the manifest screenshot from the Crawford County jail roster.
The screenshot shows why the search process is simple: the public roster relies on name fields, then profile links in the inmate table.
Use Crawford County Inmate Records
Start with the county roster when the person may be in the Crawford County Detention Center. The form accepts first and last name text, but the research did not find a required-field rule or a minimum character count. A blank search can return the current table, which helps when spelling is uncertain. The detail page is the key part of the search because it is where booking photo, booking number, booking date, arresting agency, offense rows, bond type, agency held for, and total bond information appear.
- Open the Crawford County Sheriff's inmate-search landing page to review the disclaimer, or go straight to the public roster.
- Leave both name boxes blank to browse the current roster, or enter a last name, first name, or both to narrow the table.
- Use the Go button to submit the search. The Reset button clears both fields and reloads the roster form.
- Open the inmate name or the Show Details icon to view the profile attached to that roster entry.
- Compare the jail offense and bond fields with court records before treating the booking label as the final charge.
- Call the detention line if bond, release, or transport status matters before a trip to the facility.
The process is name based. No booking-date filter, release-date filter, agency filter, housing-unit filter, charge filter, export button, or roster pagination was located in the inspected page. That makes broad browsing easy, but it also means common names require careful comparison of booking dates, residence, sex, race code, and arresting agency.
Crawford County Roster Search Fields
The Crawford County roster search fields are limited, which reduces guesswork for a first search. The research notes a small source-code oddity: the Last Name label appears before an input whose id is `fname`, and the First Name label appears before an input whose id is `lname`. The visible labels are what matter to a public user. Use the labels shown on the screen and do not assume that the roster supports other field names.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Last Name | Text input | Unspecified | HTML name is LastName, maximum length 50. Blank search can show the current roster table. |
| First Name | Text input | Unspecified | HTML name is FirstName, maximum length 50. Use with last name to narrow common results. |
| Go | Submit button | n/a | Submits the search form by POST. |
| Reset | Reset button | n/a | Clears both name fields and submits the form again. |
The result table uses Inmate Name, Race, Sex, and Show Details as its visible headers. Race appears as a short code in the list, and sex appears as male or female. The inmate name and the Show Details icon both route to a profile URL using an InmateDetails id. When no valid public profile is available, the detail page can report that the inmate was not found.
Crawford County Inmate Profile Fields
A Crawford County inmate profile is broader than the list view. It can show identity, booking, agency, bond, and offense data on one screen. The inspected sample profile displayed a single front-facing booking photo, a jail inmate number, physical descriptors, residence, booking number, booking date and time, arresting agency, offense rows, bond amount, bond type, agency held for, and a bond total. It did not show date of birth, age, exact housing unit, court date, judge, warrant number, release date, projected release date, or charge statute number on the inspected public sample.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Mugshot | Single public booking photo when available on the current profile. |
| Inmate Number | Local jail identifier, observed in a year-prefixed format. |
| Race / Sex | Basic list and profile descriptors used to distinguish people with similar names. |
| Height / Weight | Physical descriptors entered during intake. |
| Place of Residence | City and state residence text shown on the profile. |
| Booking Number | Numeric booking-event identifier, separate from the inmate number. |
| Booking Date | Date and 24-hour time attached to the jail booking. |
| Arresting Agency | Agency that arrested or lodged the person, such as Van Buren PD or Crawford County. |
| Offense | Jail booking or holding offense text, not necessarily the prosecutor's final filed charge. |
| Bond Amount / Type | Per-offense bond data, with labels such as no bond, sentenced, or legal sufficiency when present. |
| Agency Held For | Agency or office responsible for the hold. |
| Bond Total | Total amount displayed in the roster profile footer. |
The sample profile layout is shown in the manifest image from a public Crawford County roster profile.
The profile view is the best online source for booking identifiers, but formal charge copies still route to the clerk or court case system.
Crawford County Inmate Access Channels
The roster is the main path, but Crawford County inmate records can move across several official systems. The sheriff's detention line is the practical fallback for time-sensitive custody, release, bond, and visit questions. The sheriff and detention complex is at 4235 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR 72956, and the detention phone is 479-474-1721. The county-government sheriff page also lists the main sheriff phone as 479-474-2261 and names Sheriff Daniel Perry as the current sheriff.
No county-specific online FOIA form for sheriff booking records was located in the research. For jail or booking records that are not online, use a written request to the Crawford County Sheriff's Department and identify the person by full name, booking date if known, and booking number if available. For the actual filed charge against an individual, the sheriff inmate-search landing page points users to the Crawford County Clerk. The Circuit Clerk's Criminal Division maintains criminal court records and lists 479-474-1821 as its phone number.
| Need | Best Crawford County Channel | Use When |
|---|---|---|
| Current local jail custody | Crawford County jail roster | The person may be in the Crawford County Detention Center. |
| Immediate custody or bond check | Detention phone 479-474-1721 | Release, bond, transfer, or visit timing must be confirmed. |
| Older or missing booking record | Written sheriff records request | The profile is not online or the public roster no longer shows it. |
| Filed charge or court case | Search ARCourts and Circuit Clerk | The jail offense must be compared to the court charge. |
| Sentenced state custody | Arkansas Department of Corrections locator | The person was sentenced, transferred, or appears on a state waiting list. |
| Federal sentence | BOP inmate locator | The person is in sentenced federal custody. |
| Immigration custody | ICE ODLS | The issue is an immigration detention record, not county jail custody. |
| Custody notification | VINELink | Release or custody-change notification is needed. |
The official Crawford County Sheriff (AR) mobile app is another official path. The app store listing advertises recent arrests and inmate roster access, along with alerts, missing-person information, sex offender information, directory tools, and facility/location information. The iOS listing is available through the Crawford County Sheriff app listing. The research also found a Google Play listing, but the manifest capture for that page failed.
Crawford County Jail Versus DOC
County jail records and state prison records answer different questions. The Crawford County roster covers people in local detention, including pretrial detainees, court commitments, short local sentences, and some agency holds. The Arkansas Department of Corrections locator covers sentenced state prisoners and related correction status. The ADOC facility dropdown includes Crawford County Waiting List, so a sentenced or state-pending person may still have a Crawford County connection even when the county roster is no longer the main record source.
| Custody Type | Where to Look | What the Record Usually Means |
|---|---|---|
| Pretrial or local jail custody | Crawford County jail roster | Current detention at the county jail or a local hold. |
| Local court commitment | Crawford County jail roster | Jail sentence or court-ordered local custody may still appear on the roster. |
| Sentenced state prisoner | Arkansas Department of Corrections locator | State profile with ADC number, facility, sentence history, classification, and VINE links. |
| Sentenced federal prisoner | Federal Bureau of Prisons locator | Federal register number, location, and release-date data, not county booking details. |
| Immigration detainee | ICE Online Detainee Locator System | Immigration custody lookup by A-number or biographical data. |
ADOC profiles can show state photos, ADC numbers, parole or transfer eligibility dates, sentence history, detainers, risk data, program achievements, and VINE links. Those fields should not be read as Crawford County jail fields. They come from a separate state correction system.
Crawford County Detention Contact
Crawford County has one identified local detention facility in the county detention map: the Crawford County Detention Center. It is operated by the Crawford County Sheriff's Department and is certified by the sheriff's detention page to house 307 inmates. The detention page says the sheriff is responsible for housing people committed by the courts and those awaiting trial. The same page says the jail operates according to Arkansas Jail Standards.

The facility page for the Crawford County Detention Center is the natural place for facility-specific custody, address, and contact details. For court charge copies, use the Circuit Clerk rather than the jail. For a roster profile, use the sheriff roster first, then verify by phone when timing matters.
Crawford County Booking Records
Booking starts after arrest or court commitment. A person can arrive from the Crawford County Sheriff's Department, Van Buren PD, another local police agency, or a court order. The public profile evidence shows that intake creates at least two identifiers: an Inmate Number and a Booking Number. The profile also displays booking date and exact time, which means the public record is populated after jail staff enter intake data.
Arkansas detention standards require accurate detention, intake, and population records. The public Crawford County roster reflects that kind of recordkeeping by showing name, race, sex, height, weight, residence, arresting agency, offenses, bond data, and holding agency. Housing or classification may exist internally, but the inspected public sample did not show an exact pod, unit, private medical data, full date of birth, Social Security number, or internal risk classification.
A booking offense is not the same as a conviction. The Circuit Clerk explains that a criminal court action is initiated when the Prosecuting Attorney files an Information, accompanied by an affidavit showing cause for the Information or bench warrant. Grand-jury indictment or appeal from a lower court can also start a criminal case. Use the roster for custody and bond information, then use Search ARCourts and the Circuit Clerk for the court record after arrest.
Crawford County Visitation Records
Official Crawford County visitation detail is vendor routed. The sheriff detention page links its Inmate Visitation button to JailATM, but it does not publish a local day-by-day schedule, dress code, or complete visitor procedure in the text reviewed for the research file. Treat JailATM and the detention phone as the documented channels. Do not rely on old social posts, cached snippets, or third-party jail directories for the visit schedule.
| Facility | Visit Type | Schedule | Vendor / Setup | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Crawford County Detention Center | Vendor-routed visitation | Not published on the current official detention page | JailATM | Call 479-474-1721 and check the vendor before travel. |
| Crawford County Detention Center | Attorney or professional visit | Not published | Detention staff | Confirm through the detention line. |
| Crawford County Detention Center | Remote video if available in the vendor workflow | Not published | JailATM | Fees and times may appear only after facility or account selection. |
The sheriff page also links a mail memo and an inmate commissary vendor. Because the public page did not provide a complete visitor schedule or fee table, the safest process is to confirm the inmate is still in custody, check the vendor account workflow, and call the jail before traveling or sending funds.
Crawford County Mail and Funds
The sheriff detention page says jail mail policies changed effective November 20, 2017 and links a Mail Delivery Memo PDF. The research could not extract the memo text locally, so do not infer envelope format, photo rules, package rules, book rules, or money-order rules without checking the memo and the jail. For inmate funds, the sheriff page labels Correct Solutions / csgpay as Inmate Commissary. It also links JailATM for visitation, and vendor workflows can require account setup, facility selection, and inmate selection.
The manifest includes a capture of JailATM, the vendor linked from the sheriff detention page.
Vendor screens change often, so jail custody and account setup should be checked before money or visit time is committed.
Note: Confirm custody and vendor eligibility with the detention center before scheduling visits, sending funds, or mailing items.
